Vancouver Arts Centre has lots of wonderful arts groups who make use of our beautiful building on a weekly basis. Some of our user groups are the Albany Art Group, Community Living Association art group, The Albany Film Society, Albany Porcelain Painters, Albany Pottery Group, Albany Spinners, Albany Weavers, No Lights No Lycra and the ACE Camera Club. NewArts Inc. is a non-profit organisation promoting contemporary arts in Albany through large-scale community arts events. NewArts is also agitating for the establishment of a Class A regional art gallery in central Albany. With the performing arts already catered for by the Albany Entertainment Centre, the city could become the regional arts capital of WA. The Vancouver Arts organisation is housed in the old cottage hospital in Vancouver Street. The Centre operates spaces for exhibitions, weaving & spinning, art groups, drawing & painting, workshops, pottery studio, artists in residence, accommodation for artists & community projects. Viewpoint is an organisation for 3D artists in the Great Southern region. A biennial exhibition is staged, this year at the Vancouver Arts Centre. The exhibition title is 'Drift'. Southern Art & Craft Trail

Now in its 14th year, this two-week event features art exhibitions, open studios, workshops, demonstrations, artist talks & public art displays across Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker, Kojonup, Franklin River, Walpole and Porongurup. More than 275 artists will display their works, including woodwork, jewellery, glass art and ceramics, enriching the cultural fabric of the region. The Mill Art Group, Denmark

The Mill Art Group, Denmark

With the encouragement of their teacher, a group of local artists/students decided to enter the 2006 Southern Art & Craft Trail. They chose the historic old mill building in Denmark as the venue for their exhibition. The group became known as the Mill Arts Group and has since grown to twenty members who continue to exhibit in the annual Trail and hold various other exhibitions throughout the year. Exhibits include watercolours, acrylics, oils, pastels, fabric, wire & ceramics. PH 08 9848 3623
