This Visceral Landscape
Louise Allerton & Julian Knowles / Main Gallery / Opening: Thursday 11 August 5.30pm
Exhibition:12 August to 19 September
This Visceral Landscape is an exhibition of responsive audio-visual works and photography investigating the
unique ecosystems and landscapes of Australia’s south-western reaches. It explores the voice of the pristine
ecosystems and tensions within the region and the liminal zones where these meet the urban environment.
In this dialogue the land is seen as a body in complex contradiction - exuding strength, but expressing fragility.
Using custom software developed by the artists, works draw on live data from five weather stations in the region which influence and activate responsive video works in the gallery.
